Inspired by Karl Blossfeldt photography, our Year 6 pupils have just successfully completed their incredible slab and pinch pot sculptures.
To round off our Wellbeing Week, Mrs Hampson, our talented Art Teacher and Artist-in-Residence, has been weaving her magic around the school.
During STEAM Week, pupils from Years 7 to 9 have been diving into the world of Science and creating a stunning collaborative painted periodic table.
Last term, our Year 8 Senior pupils learnt about Greek mythological beasts and Mexican Alebrijes, working together to create eye-catching sculptures.
We were thrilled to welcome back alumni, Lottie, who recently returned to give a master class in ceramics to some of our Senior pupils.
Year 9 have completed a fantastic collaborative THRIVE mural for our Sports Centre that beautifully depicts the school houses and core values.
Year 7 have been working on a sustained oil pastel drawing of flowers, learning how to use scale and proportion whilst carefully blending and colour matching.
This week, Year 6 pupils learnt how to do a perspective drawing using charcoal whilst accurately draw a plinth and their fantastic natural form creations.
We held our first Lino Printing Adult Workshop yesterday, exploring the process of reduction lino printing whilst producing a series of creative, festive Christmas cards.
This term, inspired by our trip to the Sculpture Park, Year 7 have have been working with wire and willow to create a series of sculptures.
MEET OUR ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE
We are delighted to have Mrs Hampson, Art Teacher and Artist-in-Residence, at St Nicholas' School.
Mrs Hampson teaches our senior school pupils whilst creating and exhibiting her own artwork, taking commissions, running pupil and adult workshops and offering 1-2-1 tutoring sessions.
