"Welcome back! Despite only having had pupils in school for two days this week, Easter nevertheless seems like it happened a long time ago now. We hope that you managed to relax and take advantage of some warmer weather, if you were lucky enough to find some.
There was much excitement in assembly this morning as we revealed who our new Head Girl, Deputy Head Girls, House Captains and Deputies, Sports Captains, Prefects and Ambassadors are going to be for the forthcoming year. We said thank you to the fantastic pupil team who have led and inspired in their respective roles this year and we welcome in the new team. Our Year 11 pupils have their customary 'beach party' (water fight) at the end of the day today and then a camp out tonight, which really marks the end of normal lessons and the start of the GCSE period. Although most of the written exams don't start for a couple of weeks, the oral exams for languages begin in earnest on Monday. Monday will also be the "Leavers' Assembly", accompanied no doubt by a few howls of laughter and a few tears at the dawning realisation that this cohort is fast approaching the end of their time at St Nick's. It's just as well that they are making the most of the last few days; please spare a thought for the staff who are camping out with them this evening!"
